The VCUCard Office is open on both campuses by appointment only Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Please see below to schedule an appointment.
For security reasons the VCUCard Office does not, under any circumstances, authorize affiliates, employees, or students for an ID. The VCUCard Office does not accept letters, emails or phone calls as valid authorization for a VCUCard.
Use of the VCUCard by the cardholder signifies agreement with all Terms & Conditions, provided by the VCUCard Office, and with VCU Health System HR Identification Card Policy , provided by the VCU Health Human Resources Office, and the VCU Employee and Affiliate Identification Policy.

In order to obtain a VCUCard, you must provide one of the following:
- Valid state issued drivers license (standard or REAL)
- Military identification card
- Passport
- Parent Consent Form
- State issued identification card
Replacement Fees are charged to all VCU and VCU Health patrons, payable at the time of reissuance.

- Deactivate your VCUCard through myVCUCard.com or through the GET App if it is lost or stolen

VCU Health Employee Replacement Cards
Fee: $25.00 Primary Card, $5.00 Secondary Card
Instructions:
- The Health System requires completion and approval of an HR4U ID Replacement Card Request Form prior to having the card replaced
- For additional information on this process, visit the HR4U Portal or contact the HR4U Service Center at (804) 628-4748
- Once approval has been received, schedule an in-person appointment

All students can obtain their first VCUCard, at no cost, during the semester in which they are currently enrolled for classes. Please wait at least 2 weeks before the start of classes to obtain a VCUCard by requesting an in-person appointment below.

VCU Health System Students
Students enrolled in a health system curriculum will be instructed on how to apply for their VCUCard. If the curriculum requires participation in Photo Submission, the program coordinator will provide the online application link to you. All other students can schedule an in-person appointment for their VCUCard.
Health students will receive a secondary VCU Health ID, in addition to their student card. The VCU student ID is the primary VCUCard and will house all access privileges. Students are responsible for displaying the appropriate VCUCard for the role they are in the process of performing.
School of Nursing Students
School of Nursing students who are also employed by the VCU Health System are required to schedule an in-person appointment. The student will need surrender their current VCU Health employee ID in exchange for 2 new cards: a VCU Student ID (primary card) and a VCU Health ID (secondary card).
Student Learners
Student Learners in the School of Medicine are responsible for purchasing a VCUCard. The cost will not be covered by the School of Medicine. Please schedule an In-Person appointment to obtain your VCUCard.
Distance Learning Students
Students that are not physically taking classes on-campus and are participating in online courses, do not need a VCUCard.
VCU Employees are faculty and staff individuals who are paid by VCU. Employees can obtain their first VCUCard, at no cost, on their first day of employment. However, employees typically receive instructions from HR or their supervisor on when to obtain their VCUCard.
The departments Payroll Administrator or Timekeeper is responsible for entering the employees information into Banner. Once the information has been entered into Banner, it can take between 24 and 48 hours to appear in the VCUCard Office system.

VCU Health Employees can obtain their VCUCard on the first day of employment or long-term assignment. No VCUCard will be issued until the VCUCard Office has been given notification of employment or change in job status from VCU Health Human Resources.
VCU Health Employees will receive a card for each job position or role they are affiliated with at VCU and the VCU Health System. Employees are responsible for displaying the appropriate VCUCard for the role they are in the process of performing.
After the role has ended with VCU Health, employees are required to surrender their ID(s) to a VCUCard Office.

New Team Member Orientation
New VCU Health Employees will take their VCUCard photo at the VCU Health HR Express office when completing paperwork. All VCU Health Employees should receive their VCUCard at the time of their scheduled orientation and will need to provide a government-issued photo ID for pickup.
VCU Health Employees that currently or previously owned a VCUCard will be required to visit the VCUCard Office at the VMI Building to exchange it for an updated ID.
Housestaff
The Graduate Medical Education Office provides all Housestaff with information about obtaining a VCUCard. Please contact the GME Program Coordinator for any questions or concerns.
Affiliates are individuals who are affiliated with the university but are not paid employees. Affiliates may include retirees, clinical faculty, staff of temporary-help agencies and contractors who provide services to the university.
Affiliates are required to purchase their own VCUCard. A VCU personnel administrator is responsible for entering affiliate information into Banner. Once the information is added, it can take between 24 and 48 hours to transfer to the VCUCard Office system.
Retiree & Emeritus
Only the previous employer or the Human Resources Department can grant faculty Retiree or Emeritus status. Once processed in Banner, a letter will be mailed as verification of status. A copy of this letter must be submitted at the time the request for a VCUCard is made.

Students, faculty and staff who are attending VCU virtually and will NEVER physically be on-campus can request their VCUCard through USPS mail. To utilize this service, you must be an active member of the VCU community. First-time card requests will also submit their VCUCard using Photo Submission. Mail delivery can take up to 3 weeks depending on USPS mailing issues.
Replacement Cards for Virtual Attendance
Prior to submitting your replacement card request, please visit myVCUCard.com to deposit $25.00 onto your RamBucks account. This deposit will cover your replacement fee. If you do not want to pay your replacement fee online, you will need to schedule an In-Person Appointment on the Monroe Park Campus or MCV Campus.
