Where To Get It

You can obtain your ID in one of our offices on either campus... whichever is more accessible to you! Our office located in the Technology Administration Building primarily services the Monroe Park Campus, while our office located in the VMI Building primarily services the MCV Campus.

For security reasons the VCUCard Office does not, under any circumstances, authorize VCU affiliates, contractors, faculty, retirees, staff, or students for an ID. The VCUCard Office does not accept letters, emails or phone calls as valid authorization for a VCUCard.

Please Note: VCU accountholders DO NOT need to know their VCUCard Number to obtain an eID through the eID Finder; only the V-Number and Date of Birth are needed.

Please click here to read the VCUCard Terms & Conditions before accepting your first VCUCard.

Students

As a new student, you can only obtain a VCUCard during the semester in which you are currently enrolled for classes. You can register for classes at the VCU Enrollment Services Records & Registration Office.

Orientation

Typically, you will obtain your VCUCard during New Student Orientation sessions, and are provided with further information from New Student Programs. If you are not participating in an orientation, please wait at least 2 weeks before the start of your classes to obtain your VCUCard.

Distance Learning Students

Students who are enrolled but do not attend classes on Richmond campuses DO NOT need a VCUCard. Depending on your program, you may be required to know your VCUCard Number or to obtain a physical ID; the VCUCard Office is able to provide you with either. These policy exceptions pertaining to Distance Learning Students are based on classification of students status determined by Records & Registration.
