The Attendance Monitor

The VCU Attendance Monitor is a user application managed by Campus Card Services and used by various departments or student organizations to schedule and document attendance at their events. The application utilizes the VCUCard Office system to gather detailed data relevant to the attendees recorded at the event. It can be used to track attendance for class, forums, meetings, appointments, resource fairs, games, and much more.

This self-service application, is accessible at anytime; users can set up their own events or download reports at their convenience. The system is user-friendly and is a simple and efficient way to quickly view all attendee names (dated and time-stamped) immediately upon check in.

Types of Check-In

There are two options for gathering attendance information during an event: Web and Mobile.

Web-Based

Attendees are able to check-in through our website with a code. This option is the easiest to manage, however offers the least amount of control. Anyone with a web code can check-in from anywhere from their laptop, tablet or smart phone. Through the web application, a QR Code can be printed and attendees can self check-in from their smart phone or other mobile device by using a QR reader app.

Mobile-Based

Attendees are required to check-in by swiping their VCUCard through a magstripe reader, which is attached to a mobile device. The device requires a downloadable app that can be obtained (for free) through the App Store. This option provides more control for departments, requiring attendees to be physically present for check-in.

Reports

Departments are able to run reports during and after an event to obtain valuable information. Data can include names, email address, banner numbers as well as limited student data such as major or class level.
